Special Event: Cliff Cash

Cliff Cash hit his first open mic in 2011 at the age of 31. He didn’t miss a Thursday open mic after that for about a year. Within 2 years Cliff won Port City’s Top Comic, Comedy Central’s UpNext Regionals, Comedy Zone’s Almost Famous and landed himself on Sirius XM. In the years that followed, Cash racked up an impressive list of comedy credits and life scars. The highs and lows ranged from a divorce to a number one comedy album, from the death of his father to a Dry Bar Comedy special.

Despite accolades like being a finalist for Standup NBC, having two albums reach number one, being on Laughs TV, Rooftop Comedy and more, Cliff was toiling away in the shadows of obscurity reluctant to take the traditional path of moving to New York or Los Angeles. Cash focused instead on honing his craft and building connections nationwide performing in nearly every state in the lower 48, touring for months at a time, living in a station wagon, camping, hiking and exploring between gigs. Many years he slept more nights under the stars than under a roof. He saw 45 of the nations 62 national parks and stumbled upon the passion of nature photography that he now sells as merch at his shows. Cliff lived in his old sprinter van for months at a time all over the U.S. and México.

Finally Cliff gave in to the pressure of the social media path. He decided that 2025 would be the year he finally put his energy into his long neglected online presence. In less than 6 months, he’s grown his YouTube following from 280 subscribers to nearly 250,000 and the other apps have exploded in the same way. His first *real* comedy special THE LONG ROAD debuted to high praise from fans around the world and has been viewed nearly 50 million times across clips and platforms.

Cliff has always been politically outspoken and involved but in recent months, his activism has taken on more of a full time role. He’s lead protests all over the country and founded/co-founded multiple political actions from DONALDLOVESVladimir.com to foxtakedown.com and nowmarch.org.

Cash is actively working to put pressure on the heritage foundation, Fox News, Congress and to amplify the voices of pro-democracy veterans nationwide.

His comedy tackles the heaviest subjects from death and divorce to racism and homophobia shining the light of levity into the darkest corners of the human experience. Cliff says “maybe laughter really can be the best medicine. I hope so because I don’t have health insurance”.

If you dislike fascists, come watch Cliff make fun of them for an hour or two. You won’t regret it!

Special Event Cliff Cash is a nationally touring standup comic who got his start in North Carolina. People said “you should be a comedian” his whole life but that sounded just as abstract as “you should be president” or “you should be an astronaut".

But you can only run from fate for so long. In 2011 at the age of 31, Cash got up at his first open mic. He was in the middle of big financial troubles, his father in chemo, a failing business and a tumultuous relationship. That four minutes on stage breathed life back into him that he didn’t think was possible. He didn’t miss one after that for two years.

Within a year and a half he landed Comedy Central’s UpNEXT and Sirius XM, the next year he appeared on Laughs TV and won Port City’s Top Comic and Comedy Zone’s Almost Famous. He’s gone on to win SLO Comedy festival’s Best of the Fest, Denver Comedy Work’s Thick Skinned (twice) and has headlined shows at Altercation Comedy Festival, Treefort Festival, West End Comedy Festival and BackHand Comedy Festival.

He’s also been part of Standup NBC and Rooftop Comedy. Cash has a half hour on DRYBAR Comedy called “ God Needed a Driver” and his debut album “Halfway There” was released by StandUp! Records in 2021 and spent a week at #1 on the comedy charts.

Cliff Cash was raised on the far right end of the southern, conservative, evangelical spectrum and the result is the antithesis of what was intended. Cliff’s comedy tackles everything from racism to homophobia, greed and war to death and divorce. Don’t worry there’s some poop jokes mixed in. Cash takes the audience on a journey that’s more than just funny. You’ll think, you’ll feel, you may even cry a little but then you’ll laugh again. His comedy aims to shine the light of levity into the darkest corners or the human experience and by doing so; take some power away from the things that we fear and dread. “Laughter is the best medicine” became a cliche for a reason. It’s true. Cliff hopes it is at least because he doesn’t have health insurance.
